Guest Conduct
We ask all guests to be respectful of the property, neighbors, and local community during their stay. Shakti-Homestay is a family home, and we treat guests as we would like to be treated as guests ourselves.
Local Customs & Community
Our homestay is located in Lumshnong, East Jaintia Hills,Meghalaya. Please be mindful of local customs and traditions, dress modestly when visiting nearby villages or sacred sites, and ask before photographing local residents. Land in this region is often community or clan-owned — please stay within marked boundaries and avoid wandering into private or restricted areas without a guide.
Check-in / Check-out
Please arrive within your confirmed check-in window. If you expect to arrive late or need an early check-in, message us in advance through your booking so we can arrange it.
Identification
All guests must carry a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, driving license, or voter ID) and may be asked to show it at check-in, as required for guest registration in Meghalaya.
Smoking, Alcohol & Substances
Alcohol are not permitted anywhere on the property. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. Use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate cancellation without refund.
Pets
Well-behaved pets are welcome with prior approval — please message us before booking.
Additional Guests & Visitors
Only registered guests may stay overnight. If you'd like to bring an additional guest beyond what's booked, please contact Shakti -Homestay first — extra guest charges may apply.
Noise & Quiet Hours
Out of respect for neighbors and other guests, please keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
Damages
Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property or its belongings during their stay beyond normal wear and tear. Please let your host know immediately if something breaks or malfunctions.
Amenities & Connectivity
Please note this is a rural homestay — mobile network and WiFi may be intermittent depending on weather. Power backup is available in case of outages.
